Save the Date: Oct 22nd WALK LIKE MADD Fundraiser
Our family will be walking again in the Walk Like Madd Fundraiser to help raise funds to STOP DRUNK DRIVING from tragically affecting other families like ours and so many others.
My father was killed by a drunk driver while standing on the side of the road waiting for a car to pass. Unfortunately, my father was waiting in vain because the driver of the car was a drunk driver, ending the life of my father who was full of life at 74 years old. He was heading out to go to a help some friends with Barbershop music. His plan was to return home later in the day to celebrate my mother's birthday that day. Unfortunately, that did not happen. It still doesn't seem real. It doesn't seem that he could be gone. It seems like he was just here... So, that day, someone decided that they were fine to drive after drinking several beers...but the driver was not fine. And now, someone I love is dead. He ended my father's life and ended his (for the time being) as he sits in prison today(not long enough, in my opinion, but that's another story). Don't Drink and Drive! Don't risk it! Be responsible...I really wish this driver had thought of that on November 10th, 2008.
